LA-based graffiti artist SLICK collaborated with Hawaii's own Island Snow store for a custom Gravis Tarmac shoe.
Alternately known as Slick x Gravis x Island Snow but officially The Na Ali'i Tarmac (Na Ali'i translates to "The Chiefs") the shoe definitely has a nice collaborative aesthetic.
Available for preorder at a cost of $155 and limited to 250 individually numbered pairs, the shoe is not only beautiful but has all the right details to justify its high cost. With a leather and suede mix for fabric, laser-etched toe, signed shoe box, custom insoles, and of course the great island theme this shoe really stands out from the pack.
The Slick x Island Snow Gravis Tarmac can be preordered in men's Sizes 7.5 to 12 and Ships January 31st.

Not much to report here but starting December 16th Diesel will be having their annual Fall/Winter 50% off sale (that is up to 50%). Nothing to be seen on all-flash the Diesel website as yet so I guess head on in to your local store. Strange that Diesel would publish a newsletter with absolutely no follow-up information...

Resist Today - Art, Clothing & Accessories
posted: Monday December 11, 2006 - 10:41 AM
Resist Today (who I can't seem to stop calling by their former name Iron-On resistance) just unleashed their biggest update of the last 2 years with all-new t-shirts, art and accessories.
The 4 new tees on offer all have the signature Iron-On style and are the King Rhino Tee, Damn Everything Tee, Dance Tee, and Skulls & Kitten Tee. My vote from those four goes to the Dance Tee if only for the the logo at the back of the neck. The King Rhino Tee is pretty powerful as well however - especially the Women's version...
In the art department we have a new one-of-a-kind Dolla Hat Can (which I picked up quick style) from Dolla Lama, the Night Owl print by Eleanor Grosch, Plant Collage 2 print by Red Labor, and the stunning Twins print by Brandon Dunlap.
New accessories are also available including pillows, pins and a very dope Plaid wallet which is a limited edition of 12 (this I also picked up after much deliberation).
Everything is priced very affordably for what you're getting - $24 for tees (men & women), $40 for posters and prints, and $40 for most other accessories. Poking around the store further I see there's plenty more that I've missed so head on over and have a look-see for yourself.

TOKYObay: Bags, Watches, Clocks & more
posted: Wednesday December 06, 2006 - 11:30 AM
I've had TOKYObay on my radar for a while now (ever since they contacted me to be honest) and really like their product offerings. They've got loads of cute designs for men and women (mostly women) and feature a broad collection of watches, clocks, bags, hip bgs, satchels, and wallets.
Topping the list for men are the Barber, Tram, Nine, and Voyager watches. Topping the list for women are the cutesy Charm Time clocks, the Tattoo Bag series, and the entire Red Tango collection. They also got two more bag series - the Poco and Sacchetto but neither one are to my personal tastes.
I've seen TOKYObay goodies at various places throughout San Francisco including Therapy on Valencia but the entire collection is also available online.
Everything is priced affordably with watches in the $75-$100 range, clocks for $25, bags around $50, and everything else priced similarly.
Something in the back of my head is telling me that I know more about this than I can drum up - maybe an old roommate had a clock or purse? Not sure but it all looks cute to me nonetheless. Ladies - can I get a verdict?
