These Nike 6.0 Oncore's are an Active Mail Order exclusive. Fashioned after Nike's custom-commisioned 6 wheel "Seagle" behemoth - they've got more details than you can shake a stick at.

Built by Turtle Transit car customisers, the Seagle was used as a blueprint for the Seagle Oncore skate shoe. Featuring faux wood-panel patent leather uppers, a clear sole with the state of California outline visible beneath, Seagle inspired colors, Zoom air heel, and fresh laces to strap you in, the Seagle Oncore's also come with a backpack and alternate pair of laces.

I picked these up on my recent trip to LA at the new Active Mail Order retail store in Santa Monica and couldn't get over how absolutely colorful and detailed these things were. At $90 I felt they were a real steal for something so exclusive. At last check there were still a few sizes online at activemailorder.com but I suggest hitting them up quickly before these shoes are gone forever. Related links below...

Adidas NBA Superstars Collection

Adidas NBA Superstars Collection

Not sure why I hadn't heard about this before but thanks to the beauty of email newsletters I can report on this fresh collection of Adidas NBA Superstar shell-toes. Each shoe represents a different team and if that isn't the most productive way to release a wide variety of colorways I don't know what is.

Personally I've never tried on a pair of shell-toe Adidas so I don't even know how they fit but there are some seriously dope colors in this pack. There's also a variety of fabrics, patterns, contrasting soles and laces in the mix. No two teams are alike but at $100 a pop you're gonna have to fixate on the top tier. Every team is represented so that's a good as way as any to narrow your choices.

My vote goes to the snakeskin 76'ers, the dope colored Hornets, and the black and yellow Warriors shoe. ILL !

Asics Jet Black & Metal Onitsuka Tiger Fencing LA

The original release of this shoe was for the Olympic Games held in Los Angeles back in 1984. I was living in Santa Monica at the time and I remember it being a really big deal that the Olympics were there - they transformed the entire city for the event and I got to see the marathon held just blocks from my home in Santa Monica.

The Onitsuka Tiger Fencing shoe was worn by the Japanese Olympic Fencing Team with the herringbone outsole being constructed specially for the tournament.

This model in Jet Black and Metal is more for street culture than fencing but keeps all the original features intact just in case a passing need to fence strikes you. Coincidentally, one of my favorite pasttimes growing up was to fence with my grandmother over summers in Israel so the shoes aren't a far cry from functioning as intended.

In terms of styling, the leather is hard and cracked (distressed), the silver you see in the picture is actually metal and feels just like a fencer's mask. The heel reads "LA 84" in silver to commemorate the Olympics and the insole has two fencing swords crossed over the Onitsuka Tiger logo.

These almost look like dress shoes when worn but I couldn't resist them. They are my first pair of Onitsuka Tigers!

The Onitsuka Tiger Fencing LA shoes are available in Parchment/Black and Jet Black/Metal Black @ Zappos and Jet Black/Metal Black from Turf Shoes in San Mateo. ~$80.

The shoes run about half a size too large and are available in both men's and women's sizes. There's also about 6 or 7 other colorways but it's the distressed version that's most interesting.

Delphi Collective X Element Shoes

Element presents the Black & White Collection - a collaboration with Delphi Collective. The edition includes a matching t-shirt, skateboard, and shoes. Strictly limited to 150 pairs, the collaboration is available in both black and white colorways.

The shoe is essentially an Element DUNE cleaned up and beautified by Delphi Collective. The baby blue premium leather inside and the highlighted blue details outside really make it shine in a special way. The laces are waxed and include metal tips while the loops are something I've yet to see - constructed out of the shoe leather itself.

These are some really nice and subtle kicks. If they're still available you can try Turf in San Mateo and Unsoled in Colorado. Expect to pay around $120 if I'm not mistaken.
