San Francisco Art Music Style Fashion Culture - Jungle Life

I ordered this movie from Netflix because I'm a huge Jet li fan but then Sunday night I noticed the movie was playing on HBO in High Definition and decided to be wildly irresponsible by staying up to watch it. Considering that I put in 26 hours of work over the weekend I figured I owed myself some kind of entertainment-related treat and so I sat down to catch this movie.

I hadn't expected much after Jet Li's other roles in American films such as The One, Romeo Must Die (with Aaliyah), and Cradle to the Grave (with DMX) in which he was miscast, poorly supported, or poorly directed but it was in HD so I couldn't resist.

Imagine my surprise then to find a movie with fantastic action, a terrific supporting cast including Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins (of Roger Rabbit fame!), a real plot full of emotion, suspense and drama, and a director with credits including: The Transporter and Transporter 2 (two great action films in their own right). Add to that a soundtrack from Massive Attack and martial arts direction from Yuen Wo Ping (Kung Fu Hustle, Kill Bill 1 & 2, The Matrix Trilogy) and you've got yourself a real treat of a film.

Equally billed as both action and drama Unleashed does not disappoint. Highly recommended!

The first season of Comedy Central's Stella is out now on DVD. Yet another bizarre creation of delightful comedy from Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter and David Wain - co-creators of The State, Wet Hot American Summer and Viva Variety among others.
