Sam Flores will be at Upper Playground (in San Francisco) on Thursday, April 6th from 6-9pm to sign the FATIMA figure.
Fatima is the first in a series of collaborations between Ningyoushi and Upper Playground. Fatima can be recognized as one of recurring characters in Sam Flores' paintings. It's such a beautiful figure! There will be two different releases/colors of this figure and if I imagined it would be anything under $30 I would go pick one up myself!

Oh! Super Milk Chan Vinyl Figure

Just caught this vinyl Super Milk Chan figure and fell in love. For the uninitiated, Super Milk Chan is a truly bizzare anime that can be found on Cartoon Network. The plot, is loosely based around an adorable (and drooling) 5-year old superhero charged with saving the world. Milk-Chan lives in an apartment with an antiquated robot named Tetsuko, a slug named Hanage, and a hyperactive pet dog appropriately named Superdog. Milk-Chan is forever behind on her rent but works tirelessly to solve the Presiden'ts request for global salvation. Mostly the show caters to Japanese audiences who can appreciate the vague pop culture references but even some from the American audience can make it through an episode or two.
It's pretty tough sitting through more than one episode of this show but nevermind the cartoon. It's the vinyl figure we're talking about here and it captures the Super Milk Chan essence perfectly.
$70 seems a bit steep to pay for a toy (that Dunny I got was $15) but I'm not in the vinyl toy collector market so I wouldn't know. It sure is cute though!
