iTunesBUILDER: Build, Organize, and Sync

iTunesBUILDER: Build, Organize, and Sync
The Problem: You want to organize your own playlists for iTunes based on folders that you make yourself. You download a lot of podcasts, mixes, and other miscellany that is best put into your own categorization. You are frequently making changes or downloading new music files.

A Solution: iTunesBUILDER

iTunesBUILDER will recursively go through a folder you point it to and create playlists based on folder names with all music within that folder. iTunesBUILDER does not touch any playlists it didn't create. If you've been using iTunes and organized things previously, it will remain intact. iTunesBUILDER can also kill dead entries in your playlists if you change things around a lot.

Some technical details: This is a Windows only program. It requires iTunes 6.x. Playlist entries are made for the following file types: *.mp3, *.pls, *.m3u, *.m4p, and *.m4a

I haven't tried it myself but it's free so give it a shot!

San Francisco's OTSU got a mention over at PopGadget. OTSU is a Vegan Lifestyle shop specializing in clothes, shoes, wallets, books and bags. Check 'em out at: OTSU Vegan Style.

Yel - Short Dick Cuizi. Tasha pointed me to this EuroCrunk track by YEL which is apparently a diss on one of her friends back in France (Cuizinier of TTC Cru). It's entirely in French but there's a translation on the page. The MP3 and remix of the track are available to download. Pretty funny stuff :)

Nokia 6280 Launch. I'm starting to get real antsy about needing a new phone. From what I can tell this is the one. 3G baby!

MyHeritage Face Recognition. Apparently I look like Dennis Quaid, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Billy Zane, Shakira, Bob Hope, Tarkan (?), Sam Cooke, and Brendan Fraser.

Bush Likes Carpet. It makes him feel optimistic. And he wants you to know this. Translate this to be: Yellow sunbeams are a very bad sign for the future.

Web 3.0. Talking about Web 2.0 is so yesterday. It's all about Web 3.0 now and how much you hate those who refer to the second coming. Jeffrey Zeldman weighs in.

World Watussi Association. Todd loved the color pallette. I like that it's about rare African cattle. I think Cattle will be my word of the day. Cattle people. CATTLE. Say it 'till you love it.

The FADER magazine proclaims Aksent and Tami Chynn to be the next big popstars on the horizon. Aksent sounds like Lil' Kim and gets my pop vote. Tami Chynn sounds completely weak and throws in a bit of Jamaican accents over the top.

BAPE shit is retarded expensive for some reason however Kobayashi 5 proclaims BAPE = No Hype?

Okay, this the first of what will likely be many digest articles. I subscribe to several hundred RSS feeds, email newsletters, and various magazines and just absorb as much information as I possibly can. Some things don't warrant an entire post on their own but are definitely interesting enough to share and so, here are several links from the last gander I had at BoingBoing.

ps. this new feature is for you Sonny. Happy Birthday :)

Food Sculptures - unreal sculptures made out of food stuffs

Crocheting the Lorenz manifold - for all you knitter geeks out there

University Buildings remixed in photoshop - reminds me of the old bit meddler website (which seems to have disappeared)

Seriously high tech marijuana cultivation - took the DA 5 years to obtain a warrant for this multi-million dollar operation

SF's Bigfoot One Vinyl Figure - $80, sold out. Possibly available at retail shops. Crazy to see this guy go from hitting up pieces around the bay to full-on vinyl toy figurines.

Smithsonian Cultivating Hip-Hop Exhibit - Cataloging hip-hop from the 1970's to present day. Will cost up to $2million and take 5 years to complete.

MC Hammer's Got a Blog
Despite any assumptions to the contrary, MC Hammer is both intelligent and eloquent. MC Hammer has a blog and knows his HTML too. It's a blog like many others but this time coming from a down-to-earth celebrity who's seen his fair share of ups and downs in the industry.

He's blogging from the Bay Area so locals here will appreciate many of his references and tributes.

In MC Hammer's own words: "The engine and power of the movement is the blog. The blog will allow us to link hand in hand, one to another. Even those who are not Hammer Fans but appreciate blogging's empowerment are welcomed supporters. The blog is our commonality. My goal is to connect with Hammer Fans. Make new Hammer friends and meet with like minds. Those who believe in God, family and community. Through the blog I will eliminate sensationalism. You will have access to my many thoughts and truly get to know me without an intermediate."

Seriously, it's worth a look. He's got some pretty deep insight to share.
