Global Voices Online
A growing number of bloggers around the world are emerging as "bridge bloggers:" people who are talking about their country or region to a global audience. Global Voices is your guide to the most interesting conversations, information, and ideas appearing around the world on various forms of participatory media such as blogs, podcasts, photo sharing sites, and videoblogs.

Global Voices' global team of regional blogger-editors is working to find, aggregate and track these conversations. Each day they link to 5-10 of the most interesting blog posts from their regions in the "daily roundups" section. A larger group of contributing bloggers is posting daily features in in the left-hand Weblog section, shedding light on what blogging communities in their countries have been talking about recently.

I spent some time Sunday morning reading up on the Israeli blogosphere and while it can often be difficult to find the time to read such long postings it's really refreshing to capture information outside of the mainstream Israeli press or media without having to track down the information myself. For those of you from other countries (being the diverse city that we are), simply click on the name of your country in the green header at the top of the page, no matter if you're from Costa Rica, Morocco, Tunisia, or Zimbabwe, Global Voices has you covered.

In related news - my friend moved to Israel a few months ago and has been keeping a journal of her experience there. Her most recent post really sums up the things I miss most about Israel (I moved back to the states about 7 years ago after living there for 5 years).
