Meathenge is one man's chronicle of his meat obsessed world.
Biggles began simply enough on a small hibachi behind his parent's house. By the mid 80's he was dubbed "Carno Man" and in the 90's he began emailing weekly pictures to friends and family of all his grilling excursions. From there the natural evolution was to the internet and with the emergence of blogs, MeatHenge was born.
Based in San Francisco, Biggles shares his world of beverages, meats, recipes, reviews, and general meat-related decadence through photographs and posts.
Biggles recently contributed to the book Digital Dish: five Seasons of the freshest recipes and writing from food blogs around the world

FareCompare

FareCompare is a new airline price comparison tool.
Simply choose your start and ending points (enter a few characters and it will complete the airport and code for you!) then click "View Results Now". The fares are then listed in the right pane and may be ordered by Price, Carrier, Advance Purchase, Restrictions, and number of stops.
Airlines included are: Airtran, Alaska, American, Continental. Delta, JetBlue, Northwest, Southwest, United, and US Airways.
The information is provided free of charge for non-commercial purposes and does not appear to be affiliated with any of the airlines.
It would seem there is even more technology behind this than meets the eye as a FireFox extension is also available to "Get instant U.S Domestic Flight fares, and get notified when a flight meets your criteria". An RSS feed and My Yahoo! extensions are also available.
Above all else, the beauty of this site is its simplicity. It does exactly what you want it to do and very well.

Search results include all blogs, not just those published through Blogger (owned by Google). The blog index is continually updated, so you'll always get the most accurate and up-to-date results; and you can search not just for blogs written in English, but in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese and other languages as well.

In response: White-list Request Forms
posted: Friday September 09, 2005 - 10:52 AM
A recent poll at lifehacker.com poses the question: What are your feelings about White-list request e-mails?
The choices for the poll are:
1 - I don't mind. It just takes a few seconds and I'm helping fight spam.
2 - I'll do it, but I won't like it.
3 - I won't do it. What a waste of my time!
For those who don't know, white-listing is just the opposite of black-listing. Once you're on the list you're in. So, the first time you send such a person an email you're asked to fill out a confirmation form in order to determine that an actual human sent the message. The problem with this is twofold - automated verifications, and a false sense of security. I bump into the first problem all the time with StaticBeats - a person registers as a member and is sent an automated confirmation email. They never receive the email because the system responds with the white-list filter request. Fortunately, StaticBeats is a small enough website that I can respond to each request - but imagine a company like Visa or ESPN - who responds in those situations and how long does it take?
Towards the bottom of the poll is the option to write in with further thoughts on the subject. Read on for my response.
